Lani Sopman, Kitchen Manager & Pastry Chef -

Lani Sopman’s passion for pastry started very early in life. She spent her childhood watching anything to do with cooking on television and has devoted her entire life to making people feel good through food. Her artistic background lent itself perfectly to designing desserts and she has excelled as a pastry chef since graduating the Chef Training program at Humber College.

Her original intention to become a savoury chef was quickly forgotten when her first employer told her she had “pastry hands”. From that day forward Lani found her calling. She has worked in some of Toronto’s top eateries including North 44, Lee, Susur, Bonnie Gordon Cakes, and the Chatelaine test kitchen.

Lani’s sense of humour and creativity are very apparent in her creations, and are an integral part of the LPK’s kitchen. She believes dessert should be nostalgic and enjoyable; and, feels strongly that “No day is a good day without chocolate”.
